Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen has called for an end to the ‘false accusations’ made about his girlfriend Kelly Piquet after she opened up about the online abuse she has suffered.In a lengthy Instagram post, Piquet hit back after becoming the target of social media trolls who have been responsible for a ‘wave of accusations, rumours, fabricated situations, fake testimonials and photoshopped screenshot’.The Brazilian model began dating Verstappen back in 2021 and has often been at grand prix weekends supporting the Red Bull star who has won the last three championships and currently leads the 2024 standings, with much of the abuse centered around their relationship.‘A note from me and a gentle reminder to all… The online world can be a wonderful place for various reasons, but a very scary one when wrong information and lies are thrown around,’ Piquet posted on Tuesday night.‘I am unsure of the appropriate approach to address hate stemming from falsehoods. I have considered composing a response and letting it stand.
